The Montserrat typeface is a sans–serif typeface designed by Julieta Ulanowski. The Montserrat project is led by Julieta Ulanovski, a type designer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The design was inspired by old posters and signs in the Montserrat area of Buenos Aires. The font was designed with a large x–height to improve readability at small sizes, and the letters were widely spaced to make it easier to read on digital screens. The font includes a wide range of weights, from light to black, as well as italics and small caps.
